Name: Lindsey Downing
Where is your estate? On the Black River in Georgetown, South Carolina
Are you single or married? single
May we enquire after your family? one younger sister whom i adore, and both parents. let's leave it at that, shall we?
What are your accomplishments? They are largely academic, as I am attending pharmacy school at present and have little time for anything else. However I do draw fairly well and I dance.
What are your feelings on dancing? See above. It's great fun.
What think you of books? I adore books. I tend to enjoy them better than human company.
How would you react to a slight against either yourself or your family/acquaintances? It depends on the slight. If I perceive it to be a truth, then I'll probably agree. Otherwise I will cut you off at the knees. Unless it's about my sister. Then I cut you off at the knees either way.
Do you consider the forms of introduction, and the stress that is laid upon them, as nonsense? yes. I like to introduce myself in odd ways. I find it breaks tension fairly well.
The country is a vast deal pleasanter (than the town), is it not? The green appeals to me, but I find town a good bit livelier.
Tell us something of your character: I am very honest. I find myself uncomfortable among strangers, but under the right circumstances I warm up quickly. I am either the life of the party or hiding in the corner, there is no in-between. I throw myself into things before sorting them out in my head.
Are you consulting your own feelings in the present application, or do you imagine that you are gratifying ours? I am telling the truth, if that's what you mean. I may omit certain things if I find they are less than palatable to polite conversation, but in all honesty, who doesn't? I don't want to know what you wear to sleep at night.
Which character would you most like to be considered similar to? Like? Well I suppose Elizabeth Bennet(t?), anyone would love to be likened to her.
Which character do you truly feel that you are most similar to? Oh, I don't know. Sometimes I'm Darcy and sometimes I'm...there I go with the names again. His friend, the one that fancies Jane.
